Background: A maxillofacial prosthesis, an alternative to surgery for the rehabilitation of patients with facial disabilities (congenital or acquired due malignant disease trauma), are meant replace parts face missing areas bone and soft tissue restore oral functions such as swallowing, speech chewing, main goal being improve quality life patients. The conventional procedures prosthesis manufacturing involve several complex steps, very traumatic patient rely on skills team. Computer-aided design computer-aided have opened a new approach fabrication prostheses. Our review aimed perform update digital emphasizing available methods data acquisition extraoral, intraoral defects in region assessing software used processing part design. Methods: search PubMed Scopus databases was done using predefined MeSH terms. Results: Partially complete workflows were successfully applied extraoral manufacturing. Conclusions: To date, interface process prostheses expensive, not typical this purpose accessible only skilled dental professionals (CAD) engineers. As demand increases, more support from designer manufacturer will be necessary create user-friendly modules similar those laboratories.
